an update

Been a while since I posted something, so I thought I should. This city is amazing. When the sun is out an shining it’s perfect. The streets are filled with just enough people that it isn’t crowded. It rained almost all day yesterday, and a bit this morning. It seems to have stopped for now, and is supposed to be off and on for the next few days. Hopefully it isn’t going to be the non-stop downpour it was yesterday. When it’s raining, Dublin’s a little less fun (especially when you get lost in it). Though it’s still a great place to be.

Never before have I meet such a large collective of people in my life who were all so friendly and open. People are so willing to help you in anyway they can. I love this town.

I haven’t heard back from any of my job leads, but I’m going to start looking around again tomorrow. we’ll see what happens.

I havn’t been carrying my camera around, but I’ll try to get some pictures for everyone in the next few days.

Pardon the Intrusion…

I’d like to let it be known that I worked out how to update Patrick’s Twitter whenever there’s a new post here. I thought it’d be a spiffy feature for folks like me (looking at you, Mom & Dad) so we don’t have to refresh this website 12 hours a day.

Such are the hazards of building the blog while the traveler’s already overseas.

Ireland’s oldest pub

Just got back from Dublin’s oldest pub. It really is true that Guinness doesn’t travel well. If one were to make whipped cream taste like beer, it would taste like the head on a pint In Ireland.  Met some people, made some friends. Sleepy now, I’ll write more tomorrow.

Caoimhe

‘KEE-va, KWEE-va. It is of Irish and Gaelic origin, and its meaning is “gentleness, loveliness, grace”.’

Caoimhe

All told I had a largely uneventful flight. Watched Seven Pounds. I thought it wasn’t as interesting as it could have been. Twilight, which was pure awfulness, and Watchmen, minus the uber violent parts, which frankly, in my opinion, was half of what made that movie so cool. Who wants to watch a kosher version of Braveheart or 300 anyways? It all lead up to my first view of the Emerald Isle:

First View

Anyways… I’m here now… so what next?

one last thing…

Just less than 24 hours away from my flight. Holy crap, I’m really going to Ireland, aren’t I?  just one last thing I had to do…
